The Phage Division of Optipharm Co. Ltd. uses bacteriophages as hosts for bacteria as an antibiotic substitute to solve infectious diseases caused by antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
“Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria(Super Bacteria)” have been found to be resistant to all antibiotics, and these cases of resistant infections are increasing with every year. To find ways to fight against these new bacteria, the phage division has secured more than 300 bacteriophages that are effective against pathogenic bacteria, and has succeeded in launching these bacteriophage products through research and patent applications. Bacteriophage products are already widely in application in animals, contributing to the reduction of antibiotic use in livestock. Optipharm aims to further contribute to the promotion of public health by continuing in its development products that can be applied to human diseases.
